Privacy Policy

Effective October 26, 2026.

What we collect when you use this site and join The SURR Lineup, and what we do with it.

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains what THE SURR ("we", "us"), collects when you use our website and join The SURR Lineup, and what we do with it. It is part of the Terms and Conditions.

2. What we collect

  • What you give us: first and last name, email address, ZIP code (we find your city, county and state from it), or, if you live outside the United States, your country and city, your optional message, whether you chose to appear under a family name, and if you choose to give them, your shirt size, pickup location, Instagram handle and surf level. If you write to us on the contact form, the details you put there.
  • How you found us: if you came to our website through a link with campaign tags (for example from a flyer, a post or an email), or from another website, we record those tags, the name of the website that sent you and the first page you opened, and keep them with your entry. This is saved in your browser until you join, and is not used to follow you on other websites. If you came without such a link, the form may ask how you heard about us (for example Instagram or a friend); answering is optional, and we keep your answer with your entry.
  • Records of your agreement: the version of the Terms you accepted, when, and the IP address and browser information from that moment.
  • What our website collects: technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, used to run and protect the site. The video at the top of the home page is played from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube receives your IP address when it loads. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots, which checks signals from your browser as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Visit statistics: we may use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, how they found us, and their approximate location (city and region, worked out from the network address). It uses cookies for this. We do not turn on its advertising features, and we do not use it to identify you.

3. How we use it

  • To run the Lineup: assign your number, confirm your email, send you your pass, arrange the shirt, and manage the First Session and other Benefits.
  • To contact you about your entry and about news on THE SURR and the park. Our news email list is made only of people who joined the Lineup and confirmed their email. Every news email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing does not change your place in the Lineup or your Benefits, and we still email you about your own entry and Benefits.
  • Text messages, only if you choose. On your Lineup page you can add a mobile number and agree to receive texts from THE SURR (for example about public meetings, project news and offers). Agreeing is optional and is not needed to be in the Lineup. We keep your number, the exact words you agreed to, the time, the page, your network address and browser, as a record of your consent. Reply STOP to any text to cancel, or use the contact page. We use a text-messaging service provider to send texts and never sell or share your number for others' marketing.
  • To display your first name, last initial, city and state (or country), Lineup number and message on our website and on Instagram once you post, as part of joining. You can withdraw your name at any time.
  • To review entries for spam, abuse and harmful content. We use automated tools, including an AI filter, to review names and messages before they appear on the website, and we hold messages for a person to review. The text you submit is sent to the AI service that runs the filter, only for this purpose. We look for signs that a person is under 13 and remove those entries.
  • To show public bodies, landowners and partners the number and general location of supporters. We share totals and general areas, not your email or full details.
  • To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and meet legal obligations, and to keep a record of your agreement.

4. What other people can see

Your email address and ZIP code are never shown on the website or anywhere else. Your first name, last initial, city with its state (or country, outside the United States), number and message can be seen by anyone who visits the site, and may be copied by others once shown. You, or a parent or guardian of a person under 18, can ask us through the contact page to take a name off the website at any time. We remove it promptly.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. Our website does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the Lineup, such as website hosting and database services, email delivery, bot protection (Cloudflare), visit statistics (Google Analytics) and AI moderation tools, and only so that they can provide those services. We may also share it with partner businesses that give out shirts, limited to what is needed for pickup (such as your name and size), with an operator of the park for the First Session, with professional advisers, and where required by law, a court or a government authority, or to protect rights and safety. If the project or our business is sold, merged or reorganized, your information may transfer to the successor.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as the Lineup runs and the Benefits are available, and afterward for as long as we need it for legal, tax, security and record purposes. Records of your acceptance of the Terms are kept for as long as a claim could be brought. You can ask us to delete your information or to stop marketing emails at any time, subject to those needs.

7. Your choices

Residents of states with privacy laws may have additional rights, such as to know, correct and delete their information, and we honor those requests when the law applies to us. Use the contact page to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, to remove your name or post from our channels, or to unsubscribe. You can also email info@surfthesurr.com. You can also unsubscribe with the link in any news email. We may need to confirm that it is you. Deleting your information may end your entry and your Benefits.

8. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including access limits and encrypted connections. No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by Florida law, including the Florida Information Protection Act.

9. Children

The Lineup and this website are for people 13 and older, and we do not direct them to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we delete it promptly if we learn that we have. A parent or guardian of a person under 18 may ask us at any time to see, correct or delete that person's information through the contact page. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has given us information, tell us through the contact page and we will delete it.

10. Social media and other places we are present

If you follow, message or tag us on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn or another platform, that platform collects and handles your information under its own terms and privacy policy, not ours. We see what you choose to share with us there, such as your name, handle, messages and posts that tag us. We use it to reply to you and, for posts you made for the Lineup Instagram feature, as described in the Terms and Conditions. This Privacy Policy covers our website and how we use information we receive from these places.

11. Changes and contact

This policy covers people in the United States. If we give you this policy in another language, the English version controls. We may update this policy and will post the new date at the top. For a material change we will also email people in the Lineup. To ask a question about your information, use the contact page or email info@surfthesurr.com.
